Association of Independent Filmmakers in Japan

Last November 26 and 27, 2011 a workshop on Introduction to Film Making was organized by Director Al Eugenio and was attended by members of the Association of Professional Photographers in Japan (APPJ) members who were interested to do Film.

On the 26th of November Introductory Sessions on the Theory of Film Making was introduced by Director Al Eugenio to an enthusiastic group. It was also attended by Barangay Japan Director Royce Shiroma Pellerin who also gave some useful insights on the subject.

The group was able to learn the Organization of the Production and how they function. The venue was at the Hirai Assembly Hall.

On the 27th of November, the group was gathered at the Koto-ku Kumin Kan near Nishi Ojima for the Technical Aspects of Film Making. Theories and practical workshops were handled with interested members.

Director Al further taught the proper set up of the Camera prior to takes.

The members were also tasked to do the set up and studied the different technicalities on how to use the Camera properly as guided by the Director.



The aim was to provide members with the right knowledge to set up the Camera and to learn how to use its different technicalities. Director Al Eugenio also taught the interested members the different approaches of the Directors in dealing with different shots during a Film shoot.

It was only the first of the series of teaching the Technical Aspects of Film Making. Someday soon another session will be organized to put more depth on the study of Film Making for Filipinos residing in Japan.
